UNTOLD Becomes the First European Festival to Offer Free HPV Tests and Breast Ultrasounds
With less than 30 days to go until the gates open for its 11th edition, UNTOLD has announced a new social campaign with a meaningful impact on women’s health
UNTOLD is expanding its role beyond music by offering free preventive healthcare to women attending the festival.
In partnership with the Renașterea Foundation, UNTOLD will provide free HPV tests and breast ultrasounds. According to the organizers, it will become the first major European festival to offer these services free of charge.
A mobile medical unit will be located near the festival grounds, where attendees can access the screenings in a safe, private and professional environment.
Specialist doctors from the Oncology Institute in Cluj-Napoca will perform the examinations. Medical staff will also provide information and counselling related to women’s health and cancer prevention.
The initiative is part of UNTOLD ONE and aims to make preventive healthcare more accessible to young women, including those who may be having an HPV test or breast ultrasound for the first time.
“UNTOLD proves this year that a festival can offer more than music and emotion. It can offer a chance for better health and even save lives,” said Mihaela Geoană, President of the Renașterea Foundation.
She added that the partnership creates an opportunity to reach tens of thousands of women from Romania and around the world in a familiar and accessible setting.
The project comes as the Renașterea Foundation celebrates 25 years of activity in women’s health and cancer prevention.
Through this initiative, UNTOLD is showing that a major music festival can also become a space for care, education and social responsibility.
